Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani arrived in Baghdad on Tuesday to meet with top Iraqi officials. Barzani is heading a high-level delegation in his first visit to Baghdad since he has taken office last week. KRG PM was received by Iraqi President Barham Salih, he was also received by Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi in Baghdad where both discussed a roadmap to find a solution to the remaining disputes between Erbil and Baghdad. Another meeting also took place with parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi during the trip to the Iraqi capital.
Local police and security forces raided a building in Erbil, where they alleged illicit activities were taking place. The operation stormed an electronic casino in Erbil’s English Village,” Nabaz Abdulhamid, the mayor of Erbil district explained and said the activity “was linked to the internet,” and the organizers would give clients debit cards they could recharge and spend on a gambling application on their phones or computers. “the casino was linked with the country of Cyprus and huge amount of money was sent there. Abdulhamid added that four people had been arrested during the raid, including a woman. “The owner is Turkish and is currently not in Kurdistan but on a trip to Africa.”
The United States House of Representatives is preparing to vote on a resolution condemning President Donald Trump’s racist tweets targeting four Democratic congresswoman of colour. The vote comes as Trump continues to defend his tweets in which he told the congresswomen to “go back” to where they came originally from. On Tuesday night, the four congresswomen held a press conference, responding as a group to the president’s remarks.
