Direct flights between Tehran and Erbil officially resumed on Friday, six months after the Iraqi federal government imposed an international flight ban on the Kurdistan Region’s airports. Privately-owned Iranian airline Mahan Air flies from the Erbil International Airport (EIA) to Tehran twice a week. The prices range around 200USD for a round trip.
Meanwhile, candidates rushing to get their message out has some violating the election commission’s guidelines and the Erbil municipality is raising their concerns with authorities. All violations are being documented and submitted to the commission but fines aren’t doing the trick as some parties are still campaigning in restricted areas such as the Erbil citadel and bazaar.
Lastly, Kanye West has doubled down on his support for Donald Trump, releasing a new song amid days of mounting controversy over his outspoken backing of the President. West’s new song — the humbly titled “Ye vs. The People” — debuted Friday. West defends his embrace of Trump, notably the picture he tweeted of himself wearing a Trump campaign hat.
